“The Cup" of Life” starring Hohart Bosworth, is Thomas H. luce’s latest special production for the Associated Producers, which will he featured at the Princess Theatre on Monday. It s both a colourful romance of Singapore and' i-c East Indies and a tense Stirling drama which evolves around the racial dividing lino between Oriental and Occidental. From both an artistic and a dramatic stand-point, “The Cup of Life” satisfies the most critical demands. The supporting cast includes Madge Bellamy, Niles Welch and Tally Marshall; the Oriental splendour and beauty of the settings and cosscquences which command the interest of the spectator. The original story by Carry Wilson is one of the finest of its kind, and as a picture offering, it is little short of magnificent. The supports include Pathc gazette. Japanese Squndron arrives at Sfheerness Indian Chiefs present at burial of America’s Unknown Warrior. Football Australia v. Lancashire, 10 years trek round the world, scenes in London during big fog, burial of America’s Unknown Warrior. Pathc Review, a Pathc study of hidden creatures of the sea, making corks, a slow motion study of the movements of a cracked whip. The feet of running animals and the fluttering of a fowl, Paris dog show, Pathc Colour of the Canals of Venice. “You’ll Be Surprised, Chester Comedy (featuring “Snooky” the Humanzee).
1 BULK BRITANNIA, TUESDAY, i On Tuesday evening at Hokitika a great attraction ih the .shape of an Admiralty Official film entitled “Rule Britannia” will lie shown. This film was produced during the war and contains animated scenes of officers and men of the Grand Fleet at work and -at play, an impressive- march past of I American and British marines, and al- ! so depicts battleships and cruisers raov ' ing into action in stately array, the flashes of the guns being plainly seen. | The concluding portion of the picture contains some of- the finest sea photo--1 graphy ever taken. However, the | camera man has done his work well i all through, the film is most stirring i and has been enthusiastically received wherever it has been shown. “Rule Britannia.” will be exhibited in Hokitika on one night only under the auspices of the Canterbury (N.Z.) Branch of the Navy League, represent •ed by Messrs AY. AYaßon and C. ,T. I Treleavcn. who are over here on a lecturing tour. A (embers of school branches of tile Xavv League will be mlmitted free. The picture r ill also be shown at Totara Hall. Boss on Wednesday evening.
