HOBART BOSWORTH IX “THE CUP OF LIFE” MONDAY
“The Cup "of Life” Thomas H. lingo’s latest Associated Producers’ special production is announced as the attraction at the Princess Theatre on Monday. A melodrama of the Orient and Occident’ with .Singapore the locale, the forthcoming feature presents an all-star caste, including Hobart Bosworth, Madge Bellamy, 'fully .Marshall and Niles Welch. The plot and action of the story call for many spectacular scenes including a desperate, battle between Bosworth and a “Killer” shark, taking place beneath the ocean’s surface.' The architectural meautv of the Orient has also been exploited to a heretofore unattained extent. The story is a tremendous drama of a father’s love for his son, and of the unjustified vengeance of a powerful Chinese merchant prince. Deftly combined with a delicate love story’ and scenes of stirring action, are ’ revealed the fundamental differences that will foroover separate the Orient from (the Occident—the dividing line of races. The cosmopolitan atmosphere of Singapore has been exploited to the fullest advantage in attaining powerful and effective contrast, and in reaching the tremendous dramatic situations which feature the proluction. McLEAN’S pictures. GREAT COMEDY TO-NIGHT. Mr McLean presens to-night an exciting automobile comedy entitled: “Burn ’Em Up Barnes,” in which the inimitable Johnny (Torchy) Hines makes his debut to stellar honours in feature length productions. Mr Hines is shown driving a racing car at a ninety-mile an hour clip, and winsome and nervy Betty Carpenter, his leading woman, who is seated beside him, is j shown urging him on to greater speed. There are many exciting and humorous situations in the story which is an original one from the’ pen of Raymond 1,. Schrock. and was directed by George A. Beranger. Edmund Brce.se. George Fawcett, J. Barney Sherry, are with the star. i A Gazette. Comedy and further chapters of the serial “Thunderbolt I Jack" will also be screened.
