THE WILL AND THE WAY.
No 2/s.—Risks of Intestacy. What causes a man to risk his family’s welfare Ivy not making a. good will drawn by an expert ? In some cases this neglect is due to a dislike of anything which suggests the inevitable, common end of mankind. In other cases, the fault is sheer procrastination, the constant deferring of a task which is regarded ns difficult. Roth these causes are unworthy of a thoughtful family man; either fault may mar an otherwise good record of citizenship. When a man does not leave a will providing for a wise reliable exocutor and trustee, he practically gives this order: “Divide my estate according to the laws of inheritance. Make the division on the rigid basis fixed by the law to meet the average case.” An intestate estate cannot be conserved to the best advantage of dependents. It must be wound up and divided—not as the late owner would have willed, but as the law directs. The State Onurantoed Public Trust Office is able to show the way to a better disposition of the estate.
