WESTLAND SUB UNION

The Executive met on .Monday at 8 jf.in. Present:—.Messrs McMannwny vehair), B. Dowell, Stafford, D. Dowell, Aitken, Lynn, Rutland, Cutbusli, Breeze, Adamson, Steele, and Aldridge. The referee (Mr D. Dowell) reported on Saturday's game United v. Excelsior, stating he had ordered ofi' a player. After -Mr Dowell had given his version of the incident, a general discussion took place. It was resolved that the player bo written to, but that no further action be taken.

The result of the Breeze shield match on Saturday was a win for the Excelsiors, who are now the holders. United put in a challenge for a return match, the shield to be involved. In connection with the Kokatahi challenge for the Shield, this had been declared forfeited. It was resolved to declare the Shield matches for the season closed, the Excelsiors to he the holders. It was resolved that a committee consisting of Messrs McGregor, Butin nd and Breeze lie set up to draw up Shield competition rules for the future.

The sum of £l3 5s was transferred to the Insurance fund.

The question of holding a presentation hall on Friday, Oct. fith, was left to the Secretary and Mr .McAfatiaway to arrange. It was resolved to convey to Messrs Irving and O’Connor the deep sympathy of the Union in their respective bereavements.

Permission was granted the Kiwi juniors to play a return match with Cobden.
