The House met at 2.30 p.m. Leave was given tc introduce Wliangarei Borough Empowering Amendment Bill, which was read a first time. Land and Income Tax Bill and Hand Act Amendment Bill were introduced by Governor’s message and read a first time. Mr Massey moved the third reading of the State Advances Amendment Bill, which was agreed to after a spirited debate. The Bill then passed. Amendments made in the liauraki plains Amendment Bill were agreed to and the Bill read a third time and ' Firchlight and Canterbury College Bills were put through Committee stage, road a third time and pa> cd. ’The House rose at 11.45 p m.
