The following Bills were put through tlie final stages and passed—lnsurance jConipanies, Deposits Amendment, Customs Amendment and Weights and Measures Amendment.
It wata provided that the last mentioned bill should come into operation on Ist January 1923. The Council adjourned at 4.45 unti Wednesday.
The House met at 2.30 p.m. Immediately at the conclusion of formal business, the House went into committee of supply on the railway estimates. The vote, amounting to C 1,104,000 was passed after five hours discussion. Education vote £2,569,351 was next taken. Mr McCallum moved the vote be reduced by £l, as an indication that the House does not favour the establishment of junior high schools at present. This was lost on file voices and the vote was passed. Department of industries and commerce £31,530 vote was passed after a brief discussion.
The House rose at 11.55 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
