As a preliminary to the goll championship meeting which commie lines tomorrow, a match was played to-day between the North and South Islands, ending all square. The games resulted :—- Airs Guy AVilliams (Mastcrton) lost to Aliss Wright (Timnru), 2 and 1. Aliss Gambrill (Wellington). beat Aliss Cracroft .Wilson (Christchurch).
5 and 4. Aliss Payton (Auckland), beat Airs AfcCarthy (Otago), 4 and 3. Aliss Withers (Miramar) lost to Airs Cook (Otago). 2 and 3. vAlrs .Murphy (Hutt), and Aliss Dikone (Christchurch), all square. Aliss Snodgrass (Rotorua), and Mrs Ronald Orbell (North Otago) all square.
