A very old and respected Buller resident, Mrs Elen Kelly, died on Sunday. Deceased, who had resided for many years at Westport, leaves a grown up family.

The West Coast Rugby Union met last evening. The application of M. Dando for readmission to Rugby Code from League was received and referred to the Ke;v Zealand Union. Mr A. George, the local cyclist, who competed in the South Island Championship Road race of 36 miles at Southbrielge on Saturday last had the misfortune to get- a had spill caused through his front wheel striking a deep rut and resulting in his getting badly bruised and his hip and shoulder slightly injured. The funeral of the late Mrs S. G. Ferguson of Sooth Westland took place yesterday afternoon aiid was very largely attended by relatives and * friends front all parts of the district , particularly from >:he southern district. The atteiidnilcV testified to the wide esteem in which the deceased was held. Among those present was the Mayor- of Hokitika (Mr G. A. Perry), and the County Chairman of Westland (Mr W. Jeffries), as also several members of the local bodies. The Rovd A. C. Purehas conducted the service at All Saints’ Church and also at the graveside. Several wreaths were deposited on the grave, including tributes from near friends, the local bodies and others. Many expressions of deep regret were to be heard on all sides at the deatli of one who was so universally beloved and respected by all travellers up and down thu south Tdiul. The death of Mr Win. Wilson of Camerons t..jk place on Monday evening. Deceased was 90 years of age in August last, and was horn in Fifeshire, Scotland. He came to Camerons, 50 years ago and had resided there ever since. His wife pre-deceased him 12 months ago. and lie leaves a family of three daughters (Mesdames Greengrass Camerons; Montague, Chesterfield; and Miss Wilson, Camerons, who attended her father and conducted the home).
