TbV TEI.EQRArH—PER PRESS ASSOCIATION] N.Z. TROTTING CONFERENCE CHRISTCHURCH Sept, LI. At a meeting of the boat’d of tlio Now Zealand Trotting Association, Mr P. Selig was reelected president for the 22nd year in succession. Meml>ers paid tributes to bis services, which, they said, were appreciated by all connected with the sport. He had taken office when trotting was by no means regarded with favour and bis work Iliad been largely Instrumental in bringing it to its present position. Mr J. H. .Williams was elected vicepresident; Mr \V. J. Hopkins, treasurer; Messrs Selig, H. W. Kitcbinglinm and Williams were appointed an Appeal Committee. The sum of 20 guineas was given as a testimonial to Mr John Rowe, in recognition of his valuable services rendered to trotting during the 12 years lie held office as president of the Trstting Conference. It was decided to ask tlio Forbury Park Club on what grounds it wished the life disqualification of T. Butler removed. The Nelson Jockey Club's programme containing four races of CIOO Mas not approved, the amounts not being up to the average stakes tor galloping events. Excluding the principal race, the Marlborough Racing Club’s programme was not approved for tin?, same reason.
