Reef Point Signals.

NO SIGN OF WRECK YET. [BY TELEGRAPH-PEE FUEBS ASSOCIATION] AUCKLAND, September 11 - Nothing definite has been established in connection with the distress signals seen north of Ilokianga on Saturday evening. All investigation shows that the signals were certainly seen, the people at Awanui Settlement seeing rockets, and those at Ahipara seeing li'dits, which were also seen by an engineer at Awanui Wireless Station, while ho was motor cycling from Awa„ui to the station. Tt is stated that the rockets were alternately red and blue. The small steamer, Ohine'mnn was unable to search to-day, owing to the Whnngape bar being unworkable, but to-morrow she will leave at midday, making a zig-zag course to Onehungn and going’4o miles out to sea. i The weather is still had with a hard i north-east gale. There is practically t no rain. I The scow Knpua is safe in Hi rekino, j Harbour, and ns regards the scow Male or o, which left Whangape for Sydney on Friday, she should he 150 miles out at the time the lights were seen. Tt was thought in the district that tho vessel might have been a trawler, but inquiries here show that uo Auckland trawlers are on that const at present.

I All the other vessels in the vicinity have been accounted for.

A cattle barge, 28 feet long, has been washed ashore 20 miles south of Capo Maria Van Dieman, 15 miles from where the cow Haere is ashore. She had not been Tong in the water, and could not he connected with the signals.
