WAIKOKOPU HARBOUR. WELLINGTON, Septcmbor 8
The Waikokopu harbour project was introduced into the Arbitration Court through the waterside workers’ representative stating that it was intended to bring Waikokopu into the award. Air McHenry, manager of the Richardson Line, said they had better leave it out, ns the railway would be constructed long before the harbour was ready. A lot of dredging would be required, and as there was no dredge nor any wharves it would be years before there was a harbour. Asked a question by the Judge, witness said lie would rather not say too much about it, but would give the position if the Court would not allow it to be This, however, the Judge could not see his way to accede to.
