Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their Mock sale at Addington yards yesterday: Store sheep.—A small entry and in the face of continued dry weather the market was lightly easin’. Best ewes and hoggets to 21s, others from 1 -Is to 18s; mixed sexes hoggets 13s to 16s. Best forward wethers up to 21s 9d, others from 17s to 20s; ewes iu lamb sound mouth up to 235; others from 21s to 18s; a few ewes and lambs all counted from 13s to 1 Is 2d. Store Cattle. -Not a very large yarding and the quality generally was indifferent, hut the demand all round was fairly good, especially for cattle suitable to turn out. 3-year steers £4 Os to £4 15s; 2-year ditto L'3 to £3 7s 0,1; yearling ditto Cl 10s to £2. Cows £1 5s to £1 15s. Very few heifers were yarded.

Pigs.—Porkers had a medium entry, light’ £2 7s Cd to £2 12s (id; heavy £2 15s to £3 ss; the average price was 7 : ;<1 to 81d Baeoners, a small yarding, light £3 12s to C 4 ; heavy £4 5s to £4 10s. The average price was Od and 6.jd. Storas.---An exceptionally large yarding and prices were easier all through Small wcaners, 25s to 20s; steps 25s to 335; large stores £2 to £2 10s.

Reel'.—A similar yarding to last, week, hut the quality, however, was a good deal inferior all round than what we have had forward this lasl few weeks. One line of 50 North Island bullocks arrived late in the sale. They were of outstanding quality, and sold from £l4 17s 6d to £l6 ss. averaging about £ls 10s. If North Island vendors would forward cattle of this quality they would get a much better return than they have been getting for the class of cattle that have been generally shipped up to now. 3 lie market was generally easier all-round than last week, showing a decline ol from 20s to 25s per head, medium and inferior quality showing the biggest drop and in face of large consignments from the North already advised for the next few weeks, there does not seem much chance ol any immediate improvement. To-day’s prices were: Prime steers £l2 lOs to £l4 17s 6(1;

extra to £l6 10s; medium £9 5s to £l2 ss ; others £5 ss. Prime heifers. £7 5s to £9 2s 6d ; medium £5 10s to £7: others £2 10s to £5 ss. Prime • cows £7 to £9, extra to £ll 7s 6d; others £3 15s to £6 10s. , Mutton—A very large yarding, | mostly wethers. The quality was only ; fair taking it all round. The market opened about Is per head less than ; last sale, anil towards the end eased i somewhat more. Graziers were agniii operating for medium i hied wethers, I hut not to the same extent n_s last; week. Prime wethers 23s to 2is 6d; extra 28s to 31s Od; medium 20s 6(1 to, 22s Cd, others down to 19. Very few j ewes were yarded, but they sold in , the same proportion. |
