Jn the second set Johnston won first game 4-1 , Patterson won second 11-0, Johnston won the third 4-1, playing to. Patterson’s backhand and keeping him on the defensive. Johnston won the fourth 4-1, and fifth 4-1, on placements. Johnston won the sixth game 6-4 onPatterson’s nets. Johnston was at the top of his form but Patterson was erratic. The latter won the seventh 4-2, on' Johnston’s service. Johnson won the eightth 4-2. In the second set, Johnston was none, fifteen, eight, fpur-
