WINK OR MEDICINE? AUCKLAND, Sepember 5. At the Police Court, Jervis Wright a grocer, was fined CIO on a charge of selling intoxicating liquor, named Wi»enrnis wine, which contained 30 percent proof spirit. The defence was that it was not medicated wine within the Act, which limits the alcoholic strength to 10 per cent.
The Magistrate held that if it were medicated, it was not exempted, as it contained over the maximum allowed by law, and if it were not medicated it was intoxicating liquor.
