NEW YORK, August 28 A Chicago message states four menu bers of the shop craft union have been arrestd, charged with wrecking Michigan central train, cabled on June 20th. The police state one confessed that they pulled up the spikes with the deliberate purpose of killing the driver and fireman. He also re vealed plans to bomb shops and sleeping quarters of non-union men ano wreck the New York central train. The acoused absolved the Union, stating violence was fostered by a small band of Radicals, who had been actively spreading Bolshevist theories.

MINERS ENTOMBED. WASHINGTON, Aug. 28. A despatch from Sacramento, California states at least forty-five men have been entombed through a cave in at Argonaut gold mine. It is believed there is no hope of rescue.
TENNIS POSTPONED. WASHINGTON, Aug 28. Tennis has been postponed until Tuesday. Twenty hours continuous rain has made the court unplayable.
A SCHOONER’S TROUBLES!. SAN FRANCISCO, Aug 28. The crew of the schooner, William H. Smith, 123 days out from Faisi, Solomons, allege the food shipped at Sydney was unconsumable. They ate seabirds, and sharks and mixed copra with flour until the motor ship, Annie Johnson relieved the becalmed starving voyagers in mid-ocean.
FORD’S CHARGES. NEW YORK, Aug 28. It is stated Ford’s decision to close various plants on September 16th will render idle half a million whereof three million others are dependent. Ford declared he would fight a constituted conspiracy to unload the railroad systems upon the Government, at the railroad’s own prices, and also mulct the people by excessive coal prices. Mr Gompers makes a similar charge'.
