The Judicial Committee met at 7 p.m. After hearing the report of the SubCommittee who had met the referee (Mr Ivor Steele) on Saturday, it Was resolve:! to accept the repott, and to order A. AVognn tb stand down for the first senior Match in which his Club was engaged. 11l connection with the junior players Breeze (Captain), and Adamson of tlie Kiwi team, the two players attended and gave an explanation. The Chairman gave both players a severe warning as to future action, expressing the Committee’s intention to give every possible Support to referees. Sul> sei|iieutly it was resolved that both player* stand down for two Saturdays.
SUB-UNTON EXECUTIVE. The Executive met at 8 p.m. Present: Messrs F. McGregor (Chairman) Sellers, I). Dowell, B. Dowell. Cuthush. Hoberts. Adamson, Butland, McMannnwny, Aitken, Boss, Lynri. Steele, Breeze, Stafford and I 1). Heman (secretary). The Judicial Committee’s report was received and endorsed. The Roferees’ Association submitted referees for next Saturday’s matches as follows
, SENIORS. United v. Excelsiors at 3 p.m.. Mr A. Cutbush. SCHOOLS MATCH lJuller v. State School at 1.30 p.m., Mr Sumner. Mr McMannnwny conveyed a challenge from Marist juniors to play Westland junior representatives.—Received.
The Kokntahi Club entered a protest against United Club for playing P. Twomey and 0. Wright on Saturday last.—Received. Mr Dowell moved to adjourn consideration for one week. Seconded by Mr Stafford. The various rules dealing with transfers were discussed at some length. Mr McMannnwny then moved an amendment that the protest lie dismissed and the deposit refunded. Seconded hv Air Aitken and carried 1 liy 10 votes to 3. The application of D. Meharry for transfer to Kokittahi Club was grant-
ed. The reports of referees were read and approved. The AA'est Const Rugby Union wrote l-e agitation to have amusement tax removed! for sports and athletic gatherings. The Secretary to reply, the sub-Union to co-operate in the movement. Tt was resolved, that the. match, Greymoiith Marist juniors v. Westland juniors take place on Saturday, Sept. 9fh as a curtain raiser, a vote of £5 to be voted as expenses. Tt was resoled that the Junior banner be asked to be returned to the Union forthwith. Air Dowell moved that no player he allowed to play in the Breeze shield matches unless lie has played for his Club during the season. Seconded by Mr Breeze and carried. Tlie application of Geo Murtha for transfer to Marist juniors was refus-
ed. It was resolved that D. Melinrry ho allowed to play in Shield' matches owing to an accident in a recent practice, preventing him taking part in last Saturday’s game.
