In connection with the meat and bread supply, Mr J(’dries suggested that it .would he greatly to the advantage of the Hoard, if they obtained their supplies of bread and .meat .(com tjlie Mental Hospital. Mr Davidson said the matter had been brought, up some nine months ago, hut had been held pp .owing .to %• utpsotUed .position at the Mental Hospital.

I have the honour to report that accompanied by Mr Davidson and Secretary, T visited Knmara Old People's Home for the pprppse of installing Mr and Airs Ilea,}! into .(.Ijeir pew duties as Master and Matron ,<jf Knmara Home. \Ve were met at Knmara by Alp- Burrell, -Member of ,tj>p Board, who accompanied us through the Home. Here let mo briefly tribute to the clean and orderly .manner ip which the late Master and Matron, Air and Mr s Batson, handed everything over to .thei.r successors. Their conduct was quite in keeping with the manngqrpent of ti)e Home and they gave every assistance possible to Air and Mrs Hgad in pptting them wise f,p the various little duties in the Home.
The Secretary, jippj,eJia.te}y .on arriving checked the furniture, bedding, stock etc. with bis Record Book and reported verbally that everything was just as it should be. Mr and Mrs Head. were then installed in their office and they evidenced a very earn,cst desire to become fully acquainted with"alt' the various dirties appertaining to their position. The House Committee visited Westland Hospital this afternoon and the I following are the requirements:— [ “Application to the Public {Works Department, tor cleaning out .fham, blackberries and gorse in front of Hospital” a i»
“That the Board put in a. roadway from grave 1-pit so as to procure: gravel for the roadways about the Hospital.” ! “'.Matron Little requires table linen, and requires electric -light installed in linen room.” *
“The heating and hot water service contract is about completed, anti Mr, Wylie and Assistant have agreed to keep steam on boilers up to 10 o’clock: at night, and also on Sundays; this' taking their attention till 10 o’clock at night, it air. further service should be required, soup, arrangements would require to he made for assistance, hut in view of the summer months, it will probably not he required till next winter.”
The House Committee recommend that the <ost of gravelling the roads come out of the Building Fund, as owing to the building, the roads arc cut up. That a letter he forwarded .to the Health Department as follows: — “Further to the conversation with Mr Allan, the Westland .Hospital would esteem it a favour if your .Department will arrange to have supplies for new wing and administrative block, when ordered through the Clerk of Works. (Mr Stevenson).” The House Committee suggest making an application to the Health Department for a grant on the infectious block as this is being renovated and altered to suit different infectiouscases. recommended by Dr A\ ylier The Board estimate the cost at £BOO, and would he pleased'if the Department couhl see their way to grant, same.—Received and adopted.
GENERAL. Air Jeffries stated in the accounts pnssed that evening was £2O for rent of the cottage hospital at W.pilio, which, .the nurse would not occupy and it was laying idle and untenanted. He asked what the Board was going to do. It was up to the Hoard to terminate the lease. The matter was a disgrace to the Board.
Mr Davidson said the matter was that if Sister Gunn resigned and they had to get another nurse they would then require quarters for the new
