PICTURES, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. On Wednesday and Thursday Pol- | lards are screening two big programmes On Wednesday “The Dice of Destiny,” starring H. B. Warner, and on Thursday Alice Joyce iii a big Vitagraph feature, ‘‘Her Lord and Master.” Strong in dramatic situations, and possessing a brilliant cast, “Dice of Destiny” starring H. B. Warner is announced as one of the big attractions of the new yeay. The story presents the star in the role of a famous gentleman crook of the “Raffles” type, and gives Mr Warner some of the best opportunities for the portrayal of his strong dramatic ability. One of the most powerful and compelling dramatic situations ever presented to the screen occurs in this picture- The detective sent after .Timmy D.oyle (H. B. Warner) ' s taken suddenly ill on the train, and is removed to the nearest hospital. There the famous crook is an assistant to the doctor of the hospital, who at tin's time is absent. A far gone case of appendicitis, Doyle realises than an immediate opc'ration is necessary, and lie decides to perform if liimsplf. Then the famous crook has the man who has been hunting him to dartji in his complete power. It is a situation tliryt pill stick in the minds of all who see tins picture. On Thursday Alice Joyce in a special Vjtagrapli feature, “Her Lord and Master,” and first episode of the new serinl “Hidden Dangers,” starring Joe Ryan sjpd Jean Paige.
McLEAN’S PICTURES.
TO-NIGHT. Mr McLean presents to-night at the Princess Theatre, a stirring six act tragedy entitled “Seeds of Vengeance,” ivith an all star cast, including such film favourites as Bernard Darning, Pauline Starke and Gloria Hope. One thrilling incident where the father gives a deathbed message—J'And when you find him whispered the dying man to his son, “kill him!”.. And the boy took his oath he would. There will he a fine supporting programme including a tworeel comedy, a popular gazette and further chapters of the attractive serial “The Branded Four”. The orchestra will supply an attractive musical accompaniment.
