A meeting of the Ladies’ Committee of the Hospital Ball will he held in the Hospital Board rooms to-morrow (Tuesday) evening, at 7 o’clock sharp. An important meeting of the Ladies’ Hockey Club will he held in the Supreme Hall at < .30 o’clock this evening- „
The Judicial Committee of the SubUnion meets on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Referees Association meets tonight at 7.30 and Sub-Union at 8 o’clock. The death took place about mid-day at Westland Hospital of Mrs Alary Ryan. The deceased for many years was matron of Hokitika Gaol up to the time of the institution being closed and waR also keeper of the lighthouse on Sea View Hill for a long period. She was a native of Tipperary and 87 years of age. Her husband predeceased her many years ago. She leaves two sons (Michael and John) and two daughters one being Mrs J. Wallace of Hokitika.
