Friday’s results leave the cricket championships in an exciting position. Yorkshire is still in the lead, with a percentage of 73,07. Surrey’s figures are 71.42 ; and Notts *69.16. The two latter are the only counties with a chance of winning from Yofkshire. Notts seems hardly likely to make up its leeway. To-day’s match, Surrey versus York shire, at the Oval, will protbably prove tlie deciding game. Collins’ feat of taking sixteen wickets (10 in one innings) was a great performance, though it is not a record, as twelve howlers have previously taken seventeen in first-class cricket. Yorkshire made 266 and 141 for five wiokets ■ (declared). They drew with Aliddlosex, who made 170 and 85 for two wickets.
