LONDON CONFERENCE
reuteb’s telegrams. SEEKING NEW GUARANTEE. PARIS, August 18. The Allied Reparations Commission has asked Sir F. Bradbury to go to Germany to obtain certain indispensable information from the German Government in connection with Hie reparations.
It is reported that Sir F. Bradbury’s mission to Berlin is to endeavour to arrange an agreement by Which Germany will give guarantees which will meet with the French demand in connection with the moratorium. It is suggested that Germany might be persuaded to transfer to a bank in - * the Occupied Territory a sum representing a portion of the capital value- of the Ruhr mines and forests; thereby enabling France to relinquish her demand for their control. Another report declares that Franco is preparing to act alone and to occupy the Ruhr within 48 hours if the Reparations Commission grants a moratorium without adequate guarantees.
