BUTTER. The market is steady with more inquiry. Official quotations are : —New Zealand, iinsalted, 200 s per cwt ils lOd per lh),’ salted 192 sto 'l96d nor cwt (Is 8-jd to Is fid per lh), exceptional 198 s per cwt (.Is 9J<l per lb), Australian, unsalted 194 sto 190 s per cwt, (Is Bjjd to Is Od per lh), salted 190 s to l’g2s per cwt (.Is BJd to Is BJd per lh). Argentine, 196 sto 200 s per cwt (Is 9ft to, t ls 9}il per lh). Dutch, 201 s to 208 s per cwt (Is 9j’d to Is lOjd pel lh). Irish, iinsalted 198 sto 202 s pel cwt (Is 9RI to Is 9jd per 1b.,, creamery 180 sto 19Is per cwt (Is B*l to Is B;jd per lh). Danish, 208 sto 209 s per cwt (Is 9jjd to Is lOiii per lh). CHEESE.

‘ The market is quiet and prices are' slightly weaker. The official quotations are: —English, finest farmers IQSs to 110 per cwt (Hid to ,1s per lh). Canadian, coloured 84s to 88f per cwt (9d to 9}d per lh) ; white 88s to 90s per cwt (9}d to OJ-d per lh). New Zealand, coloured, 81s to 81s nee cwt (83d to 9(1 per lh). Australian, coloured, 80s to 82s per cwt (91.1 to H'jd nor lh). HEMP. The Manila market is firm with more inquiries. “J” grade, August to October shipments sold up to £32 •*»« per ton. ‘‘G” grade is quoted at £3; 10s per ton, value August to Oetobei Shipments, “ft” is quoted at £33 tor. per ton. Output from .January T to July 31 was 094,000 .hales, as against 433,000 for tlie same period last year. Stocks in London, on July 31 totalled 11,019 hales, compared'with 40,172 on January 1. The New Zealand market is firmer, with more inquiry from consumers, hut practically no business is being transacted. 11 ighpoiiits, August to October shipments, quoted at £33 per ton; fail* £3l 10s. Stocks in l/,n'don nil July 31 were 311 tolls, as compared with 30-1 tons on January 1. WOOL.

The Bradford market is quiet, hut linn. Present quotations are:—Tops, 64's (merino) 4s Sd ; 30's 'suner ludfbred 2s ,7d ; 40’s (coarse cross-bred) prepared Is U',d.
