AUSTHALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. A BERLIN JOKE. BERLIN, August 10. The latest imitator of the “Cobbler , of Koepenick” hald up a Black Maria full of prisoners in a. Berlin street, declaring himself to be a police inspector, and showing a badge on his coat label. He got up beside the driver, and when they reached the prison, the officials there were equally deceived, they obeying every order of the so-called inspector, who toured the cells. He ordered this prisoner a good meal, and that one a better bed. He also ordered that several others should be liberated immediately. He next ordered the Governor of the Prison out of bed, and reprimanded him severely for bad management. Before complete chads was reached one of the gaolers closely scrutinized • tne badge and found it was a propaganda badge, inscribed: “Remember Upper Silesia I” The man was then arrested, and lie proved to be a Berlin tailor.
