POLLARD’S PICTURES.
FLORENCE REED MONDAY.
On Monday next Pollards are presenting a. special Patho Feature “The Black Panther’s Cub” from the poem “Faustine” by Charles Swinburne, starring Florence Reed. A tremendously absorbing story of the power of good over evil; the drama in which Florence Reed rises to the very pinnacle of her great career. The drama that cost more than a quarter of a million dollars to produce and in which you will .witness the most startling double exposure accomplishments of all time, where Florence Reed plays four csparate and distinct roles. This brilliant feature is a scintillating fascinating and enthralling story of night life in Paris and the quieter and more refined existence of the English countryside. In the production, Miss Reed plays a dual role with such overwhelming realism, that it seems impossible for “Faustine” and Mary Maudsley, to lie the same person. Thi s air of realism in Miss Reed’s acting, the realism suggested by the scenes and the atmosphere of the picture marks an epoch in technique that will be difficult for another succeeding production to surpass. A Pnthc Gazette and two-reel comedy will also ho screened.
MeLEAN’S PICTURES. To-night Mr McLean presents a stirring piogrammo headed by “Tho Fighter,” starring Conway Tearle. “The Fighter,” is said to be ono of the most sensational dramatic incidents ever incorporated in a motion picture. The wreck shows .the star rushing over the rails at eight miles an hour in a lone stoam engine, when suddenly the engine plunges through a burning trestle to the river hundreds of feet below. Tt is a scene possessing all the dramatic punch nnd thrill of tho old-time melodrama.
