THE HOUSE. WELLINGTON. Aug 8. The House met at 2.30 p.m. A number of Departmental reports were tabled by Ministers. The Naval Defence Amendment Bill and Land Drainage Amendment BiU were put through eonnnittce stage.
Rotorua Borough Bill was read a second time and the Land Tax Bill was introduced by Government message. Mr Massey indicated that the super tax would he reduced from 33i to 20 per <ent. 'ilicie v.nnkl he no rebate of ten per <out. Ibis year for prompt payment. Mr Massey also intimated that the Fimieial Statement would probably be brought down next Tuesday. The House rose at 10.45 p.m.
