It :s reported that after Mr Jewells conference with Mr Harding, the latter asked striking shopmen to return to work leaving the decision concerning restoration of seniority to the Railroad Labour Boards. One southern railroad informed its striking employees tnat it was ready to settle, guaranteeing reinstatement and seniority right. Government reports on last week’s coal
production show a slightly higher output. Ihrep Ohio steel mills, owing to lack of coal are laying off 2700 employees.
