THURSDAY. 'AUGUST 3

The annual meeting of the West Coast Howling Centre was held at

Gtvyinmi ill at 8 p.m. Present: Messrs .1. Ring (Greyinouth). in the chair, F. Blaxall 'Westport), A. K. Benjamin (Hokitika), Blackwood (Reefton), W. K. Reynolds (Treasurer), and T). McKay (Secretary).

The minutes of the last annual and ordinary meetings were .confirmed and outward correspondence approved.

T!u* balance sheet of the tournament at Hokitika last February, showing a net profit of £9 lbs Oil, was. received .•Hid considered very satisfactory. The Centre balance sheet showed the year started with a credit balance of £4!) Ss lid. The expenses totalled £lO 19s -Id, leaving a credit balance of C9II os 2d, the receipts including tournament profit of £9 10s Oil, totalling £3S 9s 7d.—lieceivcd and adopted, the Chairman expressing pleasure at the strong financial position. It was resolveil to place £25 on fixed deposit

ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers resulted as follows: — Chairman—Mr J. Ring (Greymouth), re-elected. Secretary—Mr D. McKay (re-elect-

ed). Treasurer —Air IV. E. Reynolds (10elected). Committee —Messrs F. Blaxall (Westport). Mori (Reelton). Benjamin (Hokitika), * Auditor —Mr F. H. Kilgour.

It was resolved that the levy for the year- he fixed at ninepence per member.

It was resolved that the annual tournament take place on the M estport Club’s preen on Tuesday, February 13th, and two following days, the Tournament Committee to consist of one delegate front each Club and three from Westport, the latter to include the Secretary. It was resolved that the prizes and entrance fees lie the same as at the* last tournament, with the same allowance of *20% of the nominations to he allowed towards entertainment expenses. Some small accounts were passed for payment and the Committee voted for the election of the Committee for the N.Z. Howling Association. The Chairman referred to the very satisfactory year passed and complimented the Hokitika Club on the excellent arrangements made for the annual tournament. The meeting then terminated with a vote of thanks to the Chairman for presiding. ______
