Messrs Stewart and Rochfort announce they are prepared to supply firewood, silver pine posts and piles in any quantity at reasonable rates. The Grey County Coune.il recontly resolved to strike a general rate of 3d in the £ This has caused a considerable expression of protest and yesterday a large deputation waited on the Council urging a reduction with the result that the Council decidod to reduce the levy from 3d to 2jd.
