The Sub-Union met at 8 p.m. Piesent—Ale,ssrs F. AlcOregor (Chair), D. Dowell, Butlandj Seebeck, Lynn, Cutbush, Stafford, Breeze, Adamson, Howat, Gillooly, Aldridge, and Houston-

Tho United Club wrote (asking for 25% of the proceeds of the Kiwi-United replay match. After discussion an amendment to grant the request was lost and a motion to take no action was carried; The Chairman rend the .Tudicin] Com. mittec’s report stating that the referee’s action was upheld but that they considered-sufficient punishment had been meted out, in view of the evidence of toe referee.—Received and approved. The Kokntnhi Club entered a protest against the. referee’s action in Saturday’s match.—Received; resolved no action bo taken.

Tho Rival Club (Westport) notified they would arrive in Hokitika on Friday, August’ 4th. The West Coast Rugby Union wrote asking for the return match to he played at Hokitika on August sth. Received; It was resolved to accede to the request, the game to he started at 3 p.m. and that the junior representative match against Rivals he played at 1.30 p.m. ,

The Kiwi Club offered to entertain the visitors at a dance on the Saturday evening. The offer was accepted with thanks. It was also resolved to entertain the Rivals at tea at the Centra] Hotel on Friday evening. -*t was resolved that a general statement of finances be submitted at next meeting. Tho names of Messrs D. Dowell, Cutbush and Gillooly are to be submitted to the W.C.R.U., for selection of referee, and those of Messrs Sumner lin'd Afeharry to the Rivals Club. 'l'lie Judicial Committee of the SubUnion met at T.p.nu, there being present Messrs I'. McGregor (chair), .Michel, Yarrall and Benjamin, to deal with the ordering off of ,T. Xeilson. After hearing the evidence of the referee (Mr A. Cutbush) who stated that lie saw Jones kicked while on the ground after hearing him call out not to use the boot, that the ball was playable alongside Jones at the time, and that lie was not able to say definitely whether Xeilson was playing the ball or the man, and the evidence of Jones, Xeilson and Aldridge who each gave different versions of the happening, the Committee decided "That the action of tho referee be upheld, but that they considered sufficient punishment had been meted out in view of the evidence of the referee.”
