On Monday Pollards are presenting a big Marshall Neilan production of eight reels entitled “Bob Hampton of Rlnocrt’ from the immortal story by Randall Parrish, a story of the American frontier days. Custer’s last stand aaginst the Sioux, a s reproduced on the silver sheet in this masterful motion picture, is the great compelling cliiniix to in absorbing story of jromanee and adventure. Bob Hampton, portrayed by James Kirkwood, is an outcast from the army—an ex-officer, Marjorie Daw, as The Kid, plays the leading feminine role. Pat O’Malley portrays the gallant Lieutenant Brant, and Wesley Barry, of freckle-faced fame, give s an amusing characterisation of Dick, the youthful companion of Bob Hampton. “Bob Hampton of Placer” taken from Bandad Parrish’s story is an epic of the screen. The picture is teeming with. big moments. See hundreds of Indians and scouts in prairie conflict. Great scenes of frontier strife directed and photographed from the air. The scenic grandeur of Glacier National Park. The story of a. gambler’s love for a boy and girl. Such heart-touches as only Neilan can achieve; such humour as only Wesley Barry can bring to the screen. The supports include a Pathe Gazette and a special uomedy.
