PRISONERS ESCAPE.
LONDON, July 27
One hundred and five political prisoners escaped to-day from Dundalk gaol, through a hole made in the. wall by the explosion of h inihe. IX EAST MAYO. .Received this day at 12.2 d p.ni.) LONDON .July 27. National forces entered Westport and liberated fifteen civilians held by Irregulars. Nationals later captured Newport. Irregulars after firing the barracks, evacuated the town of Ha 11agliadaeen, which has been the headquarters of fugitives from Castlerea and other districts for three weeks. The tower is the centre of Do Va.lera’ s former constituency. East Mayo and the inhabitants strongly supported him, but changed their views as a result of sufferings at the hands of Irregulars, who looted the shop s and plundered the farms for miles around. Irregulars all escaped when the Nationals entered.
