Hoof.—A very large yarding, comprising 105 head, as against 325 last week, including consignments from Xnrth Island, West Coast and Otago. The market opened easier than last week and was very irregular throughout. hut towards the end improved considerable anil closed firm, especially for best sorts. The market opened easier i.ut as the sale progressed improved somewhat and finished up firm, although the regular freezing buyers were not operating. One speculator secured about 80!) wethers, all medium weight hull broils for export. and only for his competition the market must have gone to pieces, as there were far ton many for local requirements.
