Alatson and Co., report as : follows regarding their stock sale at Ad- . dingtim yards yesterday:— [ Store sheep.—A large entry for this : time of the year comprised mostly ol . ewes and lmggets which sold well throughout the sale. Best young cues up to 2s. others from 18s to 2 ts. tailing monlh and inferior from PJs to Ids. best ewes and hoggets to 'ids. other hoggets Ids to ]is. Xo weth-, ci's were yarded. j Store Cattle.—A very small and j scraggy entry, mostly odd cows and j nondescript sorts. Xo ipiotable lines were offering. Pic.s.- A medium entry and the demand was much keener than has been the case for some considerable time. Barge stores up to -Ids, slips -fits to, ■l‘2s. weauers IDs 6d to dds. sows in pig 1 to L's Oil. The improved tone of this department was quite refreshing. . i fairly large yarding ol fat pigs. . Hoof.—A very large yarding, comprising 105 head, as against 325 last week, including consignments from Xnrth Island, West Coast and Otago. The market opened easier than last week and was very irregular throughout. hut towards the end improved considerable anil closed firm, especially for best sorts. Prime steel's Lll IDs to ti t. extra to £ls. medium steers £8 to £ll. lighter and inferior £1 to £7 15s. Prime heifers £0 10s to CS 15s, others £1 10s to £(!. Prime cows. £5 10s to £.7 10s, extra to £l3 IDs! others £3 15s to £5. Mutton.—Another large yarding, nenrlv all wethers. Ewes are getting scarcer overv week. The market opened easier i.ut as the sale progressed improved somewhat and finished up firm, although the regular freezing buyers were not operating. One speculator secured about 80!) wethers, all medium weight hull broils for export. and only for his competition the market must have gone to pieces, as there were far ton many for local requirements. Ewes were again in keen demand- Prime wethers 23s (id to 31s extra to 3(is (id, medium 20s fid to 235, other) 17s fid to 20s.
