TIMARU, July 26-

The South Island Boxing Championships were concluded to-night before a crowded attendance. When finally got off the boxing was of a. very high order, five of the six bouts being decided on points, and mostly by narrow majorities.

Air A. S'. El worthy (President of the Tiniiiru Association) donated a cup for the most scientific boxer and this was awarded to T. Griffiths, (Dunedin) flyweight. The Cloudesley Medal for the most plucky loser was awarded to W. McPliaih (Ashburton). Results are:—Flv-weight: T. Griffiths (Dunedin) 7.7 beat A. Ennis (Timnru) 7.9. Bantam :—A. Worthington (Timnru) 8.0 bent G. Terris (Ashburton) 8.11. Feather-weight:—A. Pascoe (Gfieymoutli) had to withdraw from the final owing to an injury and W. Drew (Onmnru) won by default. Light-weight:—L. McDonald (Dune din). lOst. bent J. Petersen (Oamnru) 9st. Gibs. . Woltor-weigilt:—.l. Stewart (Tiinrtrli) 10.6 heat T. Harris (Dunedin) 10,4.

Middle-weight:—L. O’Neil (Gfieyniouth) 10,13 beat W. McPhail (Ashburton) 11.24 by a. knock-out in the third round, Heavy-weight:—McCcirilijtck (Ashburton 12.6 beat H. Stevens (Christchurch) i 1.13:
