POLLARD’S PICTURES.
JACK LONDON’S FAMOUS ST-OllY TO-NIGHT.
Pollards are presenting at the Theatre to-night a real California story with a natural California background, furnishes tlie theme and setting for the picturisation of the ‘‘The Little Fool,” based on Jack London’s novel, “The Little Lady of the Big House.” The story deals with typical California ranch life among the immensely wealthy who own vast acreage of productive soil. Highly animated and Unusual scenes are incorporated in tlie picture which arrests and holds attention. A huge concrete-lined swimming tankformed in a natural depression of the earth, furnishes the setting for thrilling scenes some of which, as called for in the scenario, caused no little concern. Some of the most daring, required persons possessed of rare nerve. One scene in particular called for the heroine to ride down the spillway of the tank, mounted on a fiery steed. After this feat was accomplished, a dive from a sixty-foot platform—also necessitated by the demands of the ’script—possibly seemed tame to the daring little Paula a role enacted by Ora Carew. An exciting water-ball contest also takes place in the immense swimming tank, participated in hy the guests at the “big house” oil a week-end party. The notable cast for “The Little Fool” includes such well-known players as Milton Sills, Nigel Barry and Byron Munson in addition to Alins Carew. On Thursday Pollards are screening a First National feature starring the popular Charles Bay in “Forty Five Minutes from Broadway,” George M Cohen’s famous success as a stage play. The supporting pictures are the latest Oaumont Graphic and a two-ree! comedy “Speed.”
