ADJINCTON STORK MARKET, A GOOD SALE.

(By Telegraph.— Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

Messrs H. Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Ad dington yards yesterday: Store sheep.—A larger yarding and god sale all round. Best 4, fi and 8tootli ewes, 26s to 28s, others from 20s to 225; failing mouth and inferior sorts from 12s to 16s. Best wether hoggets l ls to 16s Gd. others from 12s. some very good ewe hoggets to 23s Gd. others from 18s to 10s. No wethers were offering. Store cattle.—A very small yarding and no really quotable lines were offering, as the entry comprised mostly nondescript lots. One nice pen of 2V year old steers made £4 25.. What few heifers were offering, sold well. Beef.—Another big yarding, but not quite ns large as last sale. The quality generally was better all round, including one or two good station lines. The market, especially for good quality. showed a decided improvement, and included lines from the North Island Westland and Southland. One line of 60 North Island steers arrived too late for the sale and will have to he hold till next week. Prime steers £fo t<) £l4 10s, extra to Tl 5 12s 6d; medium £8 10s to £ll 10s. others £5 to £B. Prime heifers £7 to £!) 10s, extra to £l2 2s Gd. others £4 17s to £6 15s. Prime cows. £G to £8 L>s. Mutton.—The yarding was considerably smaller than last week and was mostly wethers. The market opened about* the same as last week s closing rates and improved somewhat as it progressed, but towards the end eased considerably. Ewes which were m short supply sold well throughout. Fnme wethers 22s to 26s Gd, extra 2is to 34s Gd, medium 10s to 21s Gd. others down to 17s. Prime ewes 20s Gd to _os. extra to 28s Gd, medium 16s to 20s. others 0s Gd to 15s Gd. Freezing buyers were not operating.
