of motion picture success in “Hush”. Supporting Miss Young is a cast of unusual excellence which includes J. Frank Glendon, TCathlyn Williams, Jack Pratt, Bertram Grassby and. Gerard Alexander. The supports include one of those special Mermaid comedies, now so popnlar with patrons, entitled “High and Dry” a capital two reel special.

Marie Melmar. young and accomplished through a convent training, is left I>enniles.s when her father dies. Kind hearted old Mario and his wife take her in, and Mario gels her an engagement to sing in a famous cafe, where he plays the violin. There she attracts the attention of a man of high position. But the manager of the place forces his attentions on Marie, and when she repulses him she loses her position. The man meets her ns she leaves the cafe, and induces her to go to another cafe for a bite, promising to telephone Mario to call for her. Instead of doing so, the man traps the girl in his apartment and when she leaves the following morning she is disgraced. Upon reaching home, she finds that Mario has dropped dead while searching the city for her, and his wife turns her out. With her remaining money, she goes to a hig city to the home of a wealthy cousin of her mother’s. There she is made the companion of her cousin’s twin (laughers. Only the cousin's elder daughter does not like her. The elder soil of Marie’s patron arrives home and falls in love with Marie. She accepts his proposal of marriage. Then comes the denouement. A two part comedy and the serial "King ol the Circus” complete the programme.
