Charlie Chaplin’s first venture ih the field of feature comedies “The Kid” will be presented to-night and to-mor-row', Thursday at the Princess Theatre. “T.he Kid’’ has a. strong vein of pathos throughout, the. usual comedy talent wich made Chaplin the most famous funny man in the world stands out stronger and more joyful than in any previous production in which he has appeared. Chaplin as the nurse, as a guardian to a precocious kid, and as a. reason why the police force should be increased, has one of the best eomedv roles that has even been prepaicd tor him on the screen. First National’s six reels of joy as “The Kid” is designated is really a mild statement of the actual hilarity caused by the action on the screen. “The Kid” settles once and for all, the queston as to who is the greatest artist in the world. Chaplin does the finest and most delicately shaded acting ever witnessed. It i s a comedy with a soul and occasionally a, tear ‘ the greatest production ever offered—and the Greatest Kid m the World is Charlie’s partner. The prices of admission arc: Dress circle 2s, stalit' Is plus tax, with box plan at Mclntosh’s confectionery, where seats may he reserved for the dress circle free of extra payment.
