The disgusting spectacle was witnessed by five thousand, who with the police, took no action. Hundreds of women took part. A Later despatch describes the reign of blackguardism following the taking over of Oppeln by German Schultzpolizei. The correspondent saw three women stripped, and rushed along by a jeering mob. Another mob stormed an hotel and dragged out and stripped and heat ft girl, in the presence ol British Inter-Allied officers, who were powerless, because they were instructed on no account to provoke a conflict with the population. The Polish ConsulGeneral asked the Allied troops to take prompt measures to maintain order.
