South Auckland. In the early part of the game South Areklande attacked; then Australia made several hot attacks. After some midfield play South Auckland "’ere awarded a penalty, from yhioh Barnett scored with a fast ground shot. Play continued to be interesting, the home team having a shade better of the nutter. and Australia made several determined efforts towards the close of the first spell without success. The spell ended South Auckland one. Australia nil.
In the second spell tile home team showed the effect of the strenuous work while the visitors brightened considerably ami carried play repeatedly into Llioir* opponents’ territory, resulting in Brown scoring twice. The Australian combination was far superior to that of the home team, the latter having been chosen from scattered districts, had little opportunity of playing together previously. no further score, an interesting game ending: Australia two, South Auckland one.
