ECONOMY' MOTORING. ■< - «s> o ' (Reprinted from The Sun, Wednesday, May 31st,- 1022. Mr A. .T. W. Young, well-known motorist of Irwell, writes as follows to Adams Ltd., N.Z. Importers of Studebaker Cars, about his trip in an Economy Light “Six” Studebaker .to Dunedin and return —a distance of nearly 500 miles : Messrs Adams, Ltd. Dwell, May 24, 1922. Christchurch. Dear Sirs, —It is with much" pleasure that I give you the following testimonial in connection with the Light “Six” Studebaker car winch I purchased from your firm a,few months ago. I have now driven my Light “Six” about 1200 miles, and up to date I have hot had a stop, and I have not yet used half a gallon of oil. On a recent trip to Dunedin and return T was delighted with _ the way the little car behaved, and the flexibility of the “Six” cylinder engine and the way the car took the hills was a revelation to me. I had only to change gears once on the whole trip, and on the return journey the roads were especially had. I used the car a great deal in Dunedin, and would like to say that T did not have to change to second gear once on any of the hills round about the town. On my return journey I had an absolutely non-stop run with the Economy “Six” and after leaving Timaru I made a very fast trip to my home in Irwoll, doing the distance in three lionrs, which was a very fine performance for a little car. I carefully worked out my petrol consumption for the above trip, and it estimated about 21 miles to the gVtllon, which I think is .very creditable when one takes into consideration the number of small trips, averaging from three to five miles, which were made by me round about Dunedin. I would also like to add that the Studebaker Economy Light “Six’? hangs to the road quite as well as other cars I have driven, weighing from 6cwt to 7cwt more. In conclusion, I would like to say that all the other carp I have owned and driven have been “Four” cylinder models, and in my opinion there is no : comparison between the flexibility of the “Four” cylinder engine and the Studebaker Light “Six.” (Signed) A. .T. W. YOUNG. THE PRICE OF THIS WONDERFUL CAR IS £550. I' OU FURTHER INFORMATION SEE THE LOCAL AGENTS. Clements Motors Ltd., Westland Agents for Studebaker Cars.
