ORDINARY MEETING
<’ (To sit at 2 p.m.) —- l *V’ 1. —The Chairman- to move:—“That '}J accounts for May-June, 1922, as revised a.fid recommended for payment by the Finance Committee,' amounting to £ be passed for payment.” 2. —The Chairman to move:—“That all existing Committees he discharged, and the Council proceed to the appointment of fresh Committees as follows, namely:— (a) Finance Committee—Crs AA’ard, (Chairman); Duff, Ritchie and AVells. (b) Public AA'orks Committee—Crs. Morel. (Chairman); Chinn, Chester# man, and Murdoch. (c) Minin;; Committee, Crs Ritchie, (Chairman) ; Duff, Murdoch and AA’ells. (d) Councillors to sign cheques—The Chairman, Crs Duff, Ritchie and AA’ard. 3. Cr Morel to move :—“That -Government be urged to proposals for the drainage of swanlp lands in AA’estland, in accordance with surveys lately made of certain areas Kokariihi and South AA’estla-nd districts. , 4. Cr AA’ard to move:—“That authority lie given to open a gravel pit_ at Two ATile road, Arabura Valley, where the motor tipping lorry can work to better advantage, cost not to exceed £10.”
SPECIAL AIEETING
(To sit at 3 p.m.) 1. The Chairman to move; —That pursuant to public notice duly given, the Council hereby confirms the undernoted special order duly made at a special meeting of the Council held for the purpose on Wednesday. 241 b day of Mav, 1922. namely;— - “That the Council do now by special .order resolve to raise a loan of .-£3,200 at a rate of interest not exceeding six per cent, for the purpose of assisting to pay off the antecedent liability of the Council as existing on March 31st 15)90 a s defined hv the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1921; and* that pursuant to the provisions of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913. a special rate to secure the aforesaid loan which is to , have a currency of eight years and to he repayable in sixteen half-yearly instalments he struck over the whole County, and be annually recurring as the security rate during the currency of the loan; the said special rate to be one-fifth of a penny in the £ On the capital rateable property within County of Westland.”
