(Received this day at 8.30 a.m.) . PERTH. June 30./ A chemist' named Whitlock charged wth attempting to rob a bank ' at Boulder. He was caught breaking through a wall of the strongroom. He pleaded that lie got into financial difficulties and sought guidance through spiritualistic methods. The spirit told hifii to break into the bank. The ! ur > expressed the opinion that the accused was insane at tlio time cf the offence and found him guilty, with a strong recommendation to mercy. Sentence was deferred.
