A large eoncourse of people assembled in Parliament Grounds to witness the arrival of the GovernorGeneral whose guard of honour consistnil of a detachment from H.M.S. Chatj hum. Senior Cadets from Snots College j were also in attendance. ! The Speech from the Throne was read in the Regis In live Council ill the presence of members of both Houses, a brilliant gathering which filled every part of the Chamber.. Mr D. Jones (Kaiapoi) moves and Mr Clutha McKenzie (Auckland East) seconds the Address-in-Reply.
