WEDDING BELLS.

DAVIES—GORDON. A wedding which had evoked consideable amount of intercut in Hokitika and district, more especially Kanien. Woodstock and Rimu prior to the event, duly eventuated on Thursday last June 22nd, when Miss May Gordon, eldest (laughter of Mr and Mrs Gordon. of Cashel Street, Christchurch, huf well-known and popular residents of Kanieri and Woodstock was joined in holy wedlock- to Mr Roger Davies, the popular townsman of Hokitika, and grandson of Mrs Pritchard of Hampden Street Hokitika.

The ceremony took place in the Pliillipstown Church. Christchurch, the Rev. Finer performing the ceremony. The bride looked beautiful in an apricot silk stockinette frock made with a long Witist- and I>l ousod effect, and a sweet little hat to match, the crown being covered with apricot coloured flowers. ||er bouquet was of chrysanthemums miff maiden hair fern. Her sister, Carrie, wore a peacock blue stockinette fi-ock, with hat to match. She also carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums and maiden hair fern. The bridegroom looked very becoming and was supported hv Mr Frank Bristoe, as beat man. After the ceremony about 40 guests were entertained at the breakfast by till* bride’s parents, and it was a sumptuous affair, the table being loaded with good things. Later on in the evening the young couple were seen off i by the guests oil hoard the train for] Lyttelton, showered with rice anil confetti and good wishes on a short honeymoon through the North Island, before they settle down to domestic bliss in Hokitika, where their future home is he.
