SHIP’S CREW SACKED.

| SYDNEY, June 24. I The Commonwealth Steamer Largs \ Ray has been thrown idle in conse- ’ quenee of the management refusing to have seamen foisted on them by the Seamens’ Union. The Commonwealth Government on the occasion of their steamers the Hobson’s Bay and Moret*n Bay being involved in similar disputes decided that in future the management must control. The present dispute is interpreted by the Government as a desire on the part of the Seamens’ Union for a test of strength in forcing job control. The management lias given 24 hours notice to the crew of 128. It intends advertising for a fresh crew. SYDNEY. June 25. The Commonwealth Line has advertised for a volunteer crew of unionists to man the State steamer “Largs Bay” hut has failed to obtain a full crew.
