(To the Editor). Sir, A column has appeared in the Grey Evening Star in reference t<> the. case of Police against myself re R. Ire land, I have sent the Westland Hospital Board the following letter. j Kumara, 22nd June j To the Chairman and Members, j Westland Hospital and Charitable j Aid Board. | Sir and Gentlemen. —You will have seen in the Public Press where I was convicted and fined for assault on an inmate of the Kumara Home. Plus I emphatically deny. My object in writing this letter is to ask you, as mv employers, to cause an enquiry to be held lit the Kumara Home into tins charge to enable me to .vindicate my character in this most unjust imputation. Being innocent of the charge I have nothing to fear from such enquiry. I have the honour to remain vtmr obedient servant— W. H. BATSON.
