ECONOMY MOTORING, (Reprinted from Tho Sun, Wednesday, May 31st, 1322. Mr JW. Young, well-known motorist of Irwell, writes as fol- . lows to'Adams Ltd., N.Z. Importers of-Studebaker Cars, about his trip in an Economy Light “Six” Studebaker to Dunedin and return —a distance of nearly 500 miles : Messrs Adams, Ltd. *Tiwoli, May 24, 1922. Cliristchurcli. Dear Sirs,—lt is with much pleasure that I give you the following testimonial in connection with the Light “Six” Studebaker car which I purchased from your firm a few months ago. -I have now driven.my Light “Six” about 1200 ririlos, and up to date I have not had a stop, and I have not yet used half a gallon of oil. On a recent trip to Dunedin and return I was delighted with _ the way tho little ear behaved, and the flexibility of the “Six” cylinder engine and the way tho car took the hills was a revelation tome. I had only to change gears once on.the whole trip, and on the return journey the roads-were especially had. I used the car a great deal in Dunedin, and would like to say that I .did not have to change to second gear once on any of the hills round about the town. On my return journey I had an absolutely non-stop run with tlie Economy “Six” and after leaving Timaru' I made a very fast trip to my homer in Irwell, doing the distance in three hours, which was a very fine performance for a little car. __lL_ T carefully worked out my petrol consumption for the above trip, and it estimated about 21 miles to the gallon, which I think is vejy creditable when one takes into consideration the number of small trips, averaging from three to five miles, which wore made by mo round about Dunedin. I would also like to add that- the Studebaker Economy Light “Six” hangs to the road quite as well as other cars I have driven, weighing from Gewt to 7cwt. more. In conclusion, I would like to say that all the other cars I hav@ owned and driven have been “Four” cylinder models, and in my opin- - ion there is no comparison between the flexibility of the “Four” cylinder engine and the Studebaker Light “Six.” ' (Signed) A. ,1.
