Wellington, advising that the free distribution of publications can be no longer continued.—Received. From Feeney Bros., asking that the repairs made to steam boiler by them, meet the Board ns to cost of repairs.— Received. After discussion the sum of ooij was agreed to as an allowance. "“From IL L. Tnpley and Co, Dunedin, asking for list of imports and export dues on goods landed and loaded at the wlwurves.—Received. From .1. C. Malfroy and Co., demanding payment of timber supplied. Aft to discussion tile account was passed for pnvment. From .T. W. Wallace and Co. Wellington . enclosing pamphlet- on resistance of turpentine timber to “borer.” —Received. From the Ocean Accident Cov., asking for renewal of Workers’ Compensation Rolicv. Agreed to. From Hokitika- Borough Council giving the lemil opinion as to the rating on unimproved value, and giving details Mr Andrewes, Town Clerk, was present and gave some useful information, and was thanked accordingly. From Acting Harbour-master reporting channel running in a north-wester y direction carrying from 12 to 13 loot of water for the last 2R days; also stating some repairs to ilagstafT were required. -Adopted. From K. Coles Hokitika, asking for l arro below- the lower shed to build a rest-house upon.—Agreed to; Cl a \e.u to be charged. ]t was resolved that Messrs Mood pod Houston sign the rate roll. It was moved hv Air Houston and seconded bv Mr Nightingale, that in the . event- of a suitable boat trading bore, a duly certificated man be appointed as pilot or harbourmaster. Agreed to unanimously. The Chairman apologised for tlie ansoueo of Air Lloyd through illness. A vote of sympathy was passed, and a sincere wish expressed for bis early recovery to bis former good health.
