A WELLINGTON SENSATION

It was learnt by a “Times” representative that Air R. Duncan, Secretary to the -Marine Department; has been suspended, ponding certain investigations. Mr W. R. Morris, Public Service Commissioner, on being approached, said that beyond the statemnt that the Secretary for -Marine had been suspended and that an inquiry was being held regarding certain irregularities alleged to have taken place in the Department, he had nothing to say on the matter. Air A. D. Park, Inspector in the Public Service Commissioner’s Office, has been placed temporarily in charge ol the Marine Department. \ sensation lias been created by the suspension. Air Duncan was formerly i„ charge of the Inspection of Machinery Department, and, on the retirement on' superannuation oi late Mr George Allport, he was appointed Secretary to the Marine Department in his stead.
