CHRISTCHURCH, June 14
At the annual meeting of the Canterbury Progress League a pallor was read on railways hint tlie needs for improved methods of Administration! It, was resolved to bring the suggestions under the notice of the proper authorities. The scheme which . met with the hearty support of delegates suggested. • (1) That advisory boards be formed of railway officials and business inch in Auckland. AVellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. (2) That some business men be elected by representatives of various bodies j to inert weekly with the railway authorities that may present themselves iii reward to local control, etc. (3) That the Chairman of these Committees shall be business men and they shall by virtue of their office, represent their districts 011 nil executive board to be held in AVellington each month with executive officers di the Railway and ATinister of Railways to discuss railway business matters. (4) Bv this means the Chairman will he ><blo *n bring) before this executive the local requirements which will be supported by the writing of local district managers. • (*,) jp members elected to these Boards shall make a. solemn declaration not to divulge or discuss matters brought up for dicussion and not to give any information to peoples or papers unless bv sanction of the Board. (Ii) AI embers of the Boards will lie deemed -dvisorv Boards only and have mi votes a regards the policy of the railways unless asked to do so by the Aliivster of Railways. . I
